Our story started in 2011 when we would camp at Lake Lurleen for Alabama football games. When the park was rumored to close, we tried to find a single acre for our camper, but had very little success, eventually we started looking at larger and larger plots of land as kind of a dream. That dream turned real when we stumbled onto 65 acres in Tuscaloosa, stepped out of the car, and fell in love with it.

With no local contacts, we met Greg—our Swiss‑army‑knife handyman who became family. He installed our first water line, built a cabin by himself, cut trails, and even dug a pond. The land became our private oasis: birthdays, glamping weekends, skeet shooting, 4‑wheelers, bonfires, and provided us with many memories that will last our entire lifes.

Over the years we added equipment, a John Deere tractor, then a mini‑excavator, along with many toys. But as the kids got older and sports took over, we spent more time fixing things than enjoying them. In 2022, we sold the property along with all our equipment and toys. But the land bug never left. When Jim and I started to become empty nesters we decided that we wanted to once again be land owners.

In 2023, after losing out on several listings, we found our current 47‑acre property the day after it hit the market. Just like before, we stepped onto the land and instantly knew—it was home. Secluded, quiet, star‑filled skies, yet close enough to restaurants and friends.

Jim and I want to turn this land into our family's forever home. We want to plant some gardens, raise some chickens, and maybe even get some livestock, like miniture cows, if I can convince Jim.
